Projects for Week 2008 11 15 Part 2

The third part of the weekend’s projects:

Pull the timing chain cover and see if we can identify the cam that is in the engine
I had the help of Tom Deyle and Lenny Ball

I had hoped to complete more tasks over the weekend  However, there was so much progress that this is part 3 of three parts required to document everything completed.

Here is the story of:  “What Cam is in this Engine?”

TI really want to get this done as I need to know what Cam is in the Engine in order to the Transmission to the shop for the rebuild and to complete the Transmission Brake installation project

We start with this

Cam_PB220028_small   Well, it camp apart easy enough.  The timing chain looks nice and healthy.

Cam_PB220031_small   Well, we got the timing chain off and there are no markings on the end of the cam.  The thought is that it is a stock Cam.  I’m going to pull the heads later to see if I can find any markings, but I think there is a new Cam in the works.

Jegs_PB190015_small Well, that is finally it for this week and, most likely, for next week also with the holiday. I have to step up the progress as spring is not far way and I want to be at the dragstrip the first day they open.
Come on out and help. There will be no projects next weekend,
