Ok, now for the second promised update for this weekend.

DSCN0076_small We had some additional Car Nuts this weekend. My younger son Arthur and Frank Serafine showed up. My son is standing in back of Thomas and Frank can be seen over the top of Thomas’s head
DSCN0052_small This is how the Jeep starter this weekend.
We ended up taking more parts off the Jeep, notably the left front fender, but also the starter, and Distributor. We then squirted up the engine with degreaser and went at it with tooth brushes.

This tarp was under the Jeep in the garage on the floor and this is just a sample of the grease and oil we got off. It was then rolled (yes it actually moved after 6 six weeks of sitting) out into the driveway an the pressure washer was taken to it.

Next step was to let it dry. While it was drying we removed the valve cover and got ride of all the sealer, Thomas started digging out the mud that was in the shock towers.

DSCN0084_small Next step was to wrap up the Jeep so we did not get overspray all over it. We were not able to put tarps over the axles and springs as I wanted to spray up the oil pan also. We will have to come back and warp up the engine and respray the axles springs, motor mounts black.
Now a several thin coats of a high temperature primer.

DSCN0093_small First coat of AMC Metallic blue
DSCN0100_small And this is what it looks like after several coats of the blue and then two coats of clear. There is just a LITTLE bit of primer overspray on the axles, springs, frame and engine mounts. Next weekend after the engine paint has dried I will wrap the engine and spray up all of those with some gloss black.
