Ok, Matt has the engine taken apart after 200 runs.

The crank needs to be ground, bearings need replacement.

I believe that 200 runs on these parts is a conservative estimates.

Plan is now to check every 50 runs.

Looks like I have moved beyond running the engine the full season without taking a look.

I’m not funny car yet, not Steve yet, but no longer as much of a hobby car racer as I started out to be.

The rod bearing in the center of the engine took the biggest hit.  They are paired top and bottom, but not paired the way they came out of the engine

There were never any shavings in the oil filter.  It appears they were just hammered until they started to squeeze out the side and rub against the crank journal.  The crank does need to be ground.

I could not get the shot I wanted of the cam.  The one lobe has the start of a dish at the top.  We will replace the cam with the same grind, but with a more blower friendly lobe separation.
